There is no single answer to "how much does social media management cost". It is like asking how much a car costs. The same words can get you a quote of a few hundred or several thousand a month, and both can be fair, because they describe different services.
The price is rarely about the number of posts. It is about who makes the content and how: editing your phone footage, filming on site, animation, ads. I run SpotMade on my own, so I see up close where the price comes from.
What you are actually buying
- •Posting: captions and hashtags for content you already have.
- •Content production: graphics, photos, reels, editing. Most of the work and budget goes here.
- •On-site filming.
- •Community management: replies to comments and DMs.
- •Paid ads: creatives and setup. Ad spend is paid separately, straight to the platform.
Before comparing two offers, check which of these five are included.
What pushes the price up
- •Video instead of graphics. Reels need editing, pacing, subtitles and music, and they are what carries most profiles today.
- •Where the footage comes from. Editing your footage is cheaper than a filming trip.
- •Number of reels. I would rather make four good reels than twenty random posts.
- •Animation and motion design.
- •Publishing and community management.
- •Contract length. I work month to month: a client should stay because they are happy, not because of a twelve-month contract.

Red flags
- •Guaranteed follower or view growth. The algorithm does not belong to any agency.
- •No video examples.
- •Long contracts with no trial.
- •AI-generated product where the product must be real: restaurant food, property for sale, labelled clothing. Realistic AI content must also be labelled under the EU AI Act from August 2026 (how to label AI content).
Questions to ask before you sign
- •Exactly how many reels, graphics and stories per month?
- •Who films: me or you?
- •Who edits, and who do I talk to about changes?
- •How many revisions are included?
- •Do you publish and reply to comments, or just deliver files?
- •What is the notice period?
- •Who owns the content when we stop working together?
